This lot is based on Hardwick Hall in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, built
by Elizabeth of Shrewsbury and completed in1597. Hardwick
Hall is now owned by the National Trust and is one of the finest examples
of Elizabethan architecture and furnishings around today.
