Sims 2 - Medieval Peasant - 2x4

Medieval Peasant
Made with Sims 2; University; Nightlife; Open for Business; Holiday Party Booster Pack.
Based on foundations found for Medieval peasant homes in the lost village of Wharram Percy in Yorkshire. Except that it's not cruck constructed because that's impossible (for me) to do in the Sims (and I tried!). Therefore you have one central living area, which includes an area for your farm animals (in the furnished version this is where I have put the kitchen - historically there would have been a central fire for cooking and warmth). There is a sleeping area and I also have added another loft sleeping area for practicality. I also put a washhouse outside because my Sims prefer not to stink!

I have updated this house with a proper roof so that it won't leak when it rains or snows in Seasons (well the washhouse will, but you can't have everything, especially if you're a medieval peasant). Therefore it is now Seasons compatible, but you don't have to have Seasons to play this house.

Idiote and Nowaye relax on their new, slightly more comfortable than the floor, bed.
In the background can be seen the family's most prized possession
- a cupboard given to Nowaye by her father as a wedding gift.

A sudden illness strikes Nowaye.
Is it from her truly awful cooking, or could there be another reason?

On a rare afternoon of leisure the Savaants enjoy a game of chess in their garden.

Idiote struggles to eat a piece of burnt bread. Will Nowaye's cooking ever improve?

The family are overjoyed at the arrival of baby daughter, Verity.
(Well, Idiote is anyway. Unfortunately the strange shape of Nowaye's mouth inhibits her ability to look overjoyed).

Nowaye toils to improve her cooking before the whole family die of food poisoning.

Idiote proudly shows off his daughter, Verity... oh dear... well it just goes to show that just when you thought your ugly gene was as bad as it could get, it can actually get worse!

Verity takes her first steps!

Not even a recent fall of snow can keep Idiote and Nowaye from their favourite game!

Nowaye is looking strangely attractive in medieval Outerwear from All About Style.

Verity is thrilled with her birthday present... a lump of wood.

Verity visits the village square and immediately proves herself the exhibitionist by performing on the minstrel's stage, much to the dismay of everyone present. Verity would like to make lots of friends and is interested in politics; she wonders if it is possible for a medieval woman to become mayor!

In an intimate family ceremony Verity marries Edward.
Edward is focused on earning as much money as possible and rather shuns the idea of being a Medieval Peasant. He plans to use his carpentry skills to sell toys.

Verity is overjoyed when, immediately after the wedding, Edward announces that the whole family are moving to town - so that he can open his toy shop.
